Love Dictionaries with happy retirement ft. Polly in Wonderland

One of my works has been selected by the renowned French publishing house Éditions Plon (founded in 1852), to illustrate a volume in its distinguished “Love Dictionaries” series. This edition features texts by Jean-Loup Chiflet, celebrated author of more than seventy books on humor and language, who is also known for adapting the iconic New Yorker albums into French.

For me, this recognition is both a joy and a privilege - to see my art presented alongside such remarkable names and to contribute visually to a project that celebrates language, culture, and creativity. About series: Dictionary and in love are two terms that are a priori contradictory, if not incompatible. Can love and passion really be spelled and, even more, declined from A to Z? And yet each author published in this collection has often been surprised by the personal inventory to which he has indulged, as much as by the recreational aspect of such work. Whatever the subject in which the author wanders, he is the project manager of a privileged meeting place that very quickly becomes, as if by enchantment, a playful area where the emotional and the experienced occupy a prominent place. With the "Love Dictionaries" collection, give free rein to your own culture, broaden your horizons and let yourself be guided: you will not regret any of these strolls as they are intelligent and joyful. What if this famous long-awaited retreat was not, as some clichés suggest, a period where you should spend your days in slippers in front of the television taking care of your grandchildren or spending hours in the local park playing cards or balls with your friends? If it wasn't rather a new space of time blessed by the gods, between maturity and longevity, to learn to reinvent oneself and, as the Anglo-Saxons say, "the first day of the rest of your life"? Retirement is also the age of revenge on decades of work, without RTT, on holidays that were not, on trips that we could not make and books that we could not read. Retirement also means becoming aware that it is a new art of living and not a form of life that techniques have extended. Yes, retirement is a chance to decant most of the accessory and finally "Become what you are", as Nietzsche said.
