At school, because of her long neck, she was teased as «Madam Giraffe», no one wanted to be friends with her and no one wanted to love her. Even her parents were embarrassed of her. 
She spent all her free time reading books. And when she grew up, she became a scientist who invented a vaccine against a terrible epidemic and saved humanity. Because she loved people, despite the fact that they did not love her.
Or vice versa: Madam Giraffe hated humanity and created a dangerous virus that killed all life on earth.
